60th Diploma for Bro. Ted Boult P.M.

R.W.M. Bro John Nesbitt was delighted to present Bro Edward W Boult PM with his 60-year diploma.

Bro David J Ross PM, paid tribute to the huge contribution Bro Boult has made to the Lodge over six decades outlining many of his achievements including:

Being installed as Master in 1973, becoming the youngest to assume the chair of the Lodge at that time.

Initiated the tradition of cross-Lodge visits for installation ceremonies with Walker Lodge and now Newcastle upon Tyne No 24, a tradition that has spanned the decades.

Serving the Lodge as Instruction Class Master.

Over 5 decades of service on the Management Committee.

A leading figure of the Building Committee for the recent refurbishment of the Lodge premises.

An active member of the Social Club Business Committee.

Currently serving the Lodge as Assistant Treasurer.

Spearheaded the creation of the Lodge’s Social Club in the early 1970’s to foster camaraderie and provide financial support to the Lodge.

Prolific public speaker and performer on the Burns circuit for over 50 years.

With Bro Peter Mitchell PM contributed to the education and personal development of countless schoolchildren at Cairns Primary School through Burns-related initiatives.

Received a Civic Award in 2014 for his contributions to promoting the works of Robert Burns and empowering young performers.

Tireless promoter of the Lodge’s reputation through participation in Burns Suppers, even adapting to perform online during the lockdown.

Following the presentation the Brethren gave Bro Boult a standing ovation in recognition of his steadfast commitment, wisdom, and leadership which has left an indelible mark on the Lodge and its members. On the night of the presentation he also had the pleasure of seeing his grandson Bro Steven Higgins receiving his Mark FC Degree at the hands of the Brethren form The Operative Lodge of Airdrie No 203.
